Advertising art direction student and artist
Georgie Blenkey is a current student at Columbia College Chicago. She is majoring in advertising art direction and minoring in graphic design with an anticipated graduation date of May 2022. At school, she is the social media director of the ad club. Outside of school, she spends her time focusing on art. Her main focus is acrylic and watercolor paintings and she also spends time illustrating and creating both digital and analog collages. She draws inspiration from spending time in art museums and studying art history. Her favorite artists are Man Ray, Louise Bourgeois, Andy Warhol, Agnes Martin, and Marcel Duchamp. She is inspired by the Dada movement of the early 20th century as well as artists within her own community. You can see her work here.
Professionally, Georgie has worked as a social media intern at the Flawless Foundation since October 2018. Her roles include curating content for the organization’s Instagram, attending events to cover on social media, writing blogs, and creating social media report spreadsheets at the end of each month.
In the future, her main goal is to work as an art director at a top advertising agency in Chicago or New York, eventually making her way to becoming a creative director. You can see some of her advertising portfolio work here.
